Important results from the project

The project has, in close collaboration with other game clusters and the reference group, developed methods and tools to attract and retain female and non-binary entrepreneurs in game development with spillover effects in the field of IT/Tech. By involving female and non-binary game students, developers and entrepreneurs throughout the process, we have been able to anchor and tailor the tools to their needs. The goal has also been to create tools that are easily accessible, resource-efficient, and adaptable to one´s own business so that they can be easily implemented

Expected long term effects

The project has mapped what prevents female and non-binary game developers and students from starting their own company, and what challenges female game entrepreneurs face during their startup journey. A toolbox to counteract these obstacles has been developed and tested and is expected to increase the influx of female and non-binary entrepreneurs as well as increase the well-being and endurance of those who have already begun their startup journey. The plan going forward is to, in collaboration with other clusters, continue to spread the tools and implement them in our processes

Approach and implementation

The project has been carried out according to plan in close cooperation and dialogue with collaborators, target groups and other stakeholders. The tools have been developed through an iterative and experimental design process where a continuous data collection in the form of a survey, workshops, pilot tests and evaluations contributed to insights and ideas that influenced the tools. By involving several relevant stakeholders, the project has spread widely and aroused interest in the games industry in general, but also among incubators that do not have games as a profile area.
