Important results from the project

The main goal of this project was to test and build a prototype of AISA, a method for automatically calculating the socio-ecological impact of any actor given their economic activities combining tools from environmental engineering, machine-learning and economics. Our first prototype was finished in december, and based on the feedback from our test users we developed a more polished prototype in April.

Expected long term effects

During the time of the project we have managed to achieve all of the things we set out to do and even more. Some of the highlights include: 1. Built and tested an automatic method for sustainability accounting. 2. Conducted a rigorous market analysis through several interviews. 3. Engaged in marketing and sales through meetings and conferences. 4. We wrote and handed in a patent application. 5. Got our first paying customer.

Approach and implementation

According to our initial schedule we would finish of the programing aspects and build a first prototype of AISA before January 2016, which is what we did. We also recruited two test users. In 2015 we also handed in a patent application. In early 2016 we initiated our market analysis by interviewing prospective customers and started to implement our marketing strategy. As it turns out our timing couldn´t have been better, since directive 2013/34/EU will make it mandatory for large enterprises in the EU to report their environmental impact by 2017.
