Important results from the project
The aim of the project was to assess the challenges and opportunities in digitalizing the verification of raw material properties for the purpose of adjusting production processes in real time. We have analysed selected cases in the participating companies and identified preliminary IT infrastructural needs for data collection, key supporting measuring and AI technologies.
Expected long term effects
The project resulted in a set of reports, individually discussed and conveyed to companies and a video presentation with a brief overview of the problems and general results. The results of the project have allowed the participating companies to better understand their future digitalization needs in order to create a data intensive environment for implementing dynamic decision making in production planning and configuration.
Approach and implementation
The results of the project were attained by conducting semi-structured interviews and having direct discussions with key personnel at the different participating companies. The project was developed without any physical meetings due to the pandemic restrictions that were prevalent during the execution of the project.
