Important results from the project

The northern node ensures that the national initiatives of AI Sweden are spread and that the use of AI in all sectors accelerates, with an emphasis of supporting actors and businesses in the northern regions (Norrbotten, Västerbotten and Västernorrland). Luleå Science Park, Skellefteå Science City and Bron Innovation have acted as host organizations in the node. Luleå Tekniska University and Mittuniversitetet have been included in the node. The northern node is now established and the work to accelerate applied AI regionally is off to a good start.

Expected long term effects

The project has met the goals regarding knowledge dissemination and interaction with companies and public organizations. The northern node has contributed with: -increased awareness and interest in AI in the local business community and among public actors -paved the way for new collaborations that in the long run can provide great value exchange and increase competitiveness -contributed with knowledge in the space data lab and related initiatives -contributed knowledge to programme within Training & Learning

Approach and implementation

The node has actively participated in team meetings and in strategic network meetings and workshops linked to public sector, as well as various meetings within the national strategic areas. Although we wish we had been more successful in attracting partners, we are convinced that the activities we have carried out have contributed to raising awareness of AI in our regions.
