Important results from the project
The aim of the project was to integrate AI into Viable Cities´s strategic initiatives and disseminate knowledge about the use of AI in the area of inclusive, smart and sustainable cities, now and in the future. The hype that exists today around AI means that a critical stance was needed to find the applications where AI can really create new values for future urban residents. A key contribution to the increase in knowledge is a critical external monitoring of AI for the cities of the future, as well as effective efforts to disseminate the results, including in the form of a public blog.
Expected long term effects
The results include a complete review of AI for the future´s inclusive smart sustainable cities, in the form of a report, blogs, and other ways to influence stakeholders. For Viable Cities, strategic advice has been presented on how to best incorporate AI with its 38 ongoing projects, of which none today mentions AI in its description, but also about the launch of new calls.
Approach and implementation
The project has been implemented with a structured strategic analysis, interviews, literature studies, study visits, and participation in relevant events, inside as well as outside Viable Cities. The analysis has been tailored to Viable Cities´s strategic work and made current through a review of the very latest results and trends in AI for cities.
