Purpose and goal

The goal of this project is to collaborate with researchers from Boston University Metropolitan College to develop and evaluate innovative techniques for identifying and assessing harmful online content. In the project’s initial phase, our focus will be on methods for the automatic detection and evaluation of threatening communications. This interdisciplinary project brings together multiple scientific fields to advance the development of next-generation AI models.

Expected effects and result

Within the project, we will publish scientific articles and present our findings at a conference. In collaboration with Boston University Metropolitan College, the project maintains a close partnership with police authorities in the USA, allowing the methods and techniques developed to be evaluated and tested on real cases.

Planned approach and implementation

The project started in September 2024 with weekly meetings on zoom. Parts of the work have been accepted for presentation at a conference organized by The Association of Threat Assessment Professionals and Florida Department of Law Enforcement on February 4-7, 2025 in Florida USA. In the beginning of June, Lisa will go to Boston and work on site at BU for about 10 weeks. During the stay, Lisa will participate in seminars and other BU activities and continue with the research with the goal of publishing the results in a scientific journal.
