Important results from the project

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The project aimed to investigate how AI can be used to streamline: 1. Distribution of applications to Formas to the right evaluation group. 2. Identification of evaluator Two different AI tools were developed. The AI tool for distributing applications to Formas evaluation groups received a high level of accuracy and was pilot tested by research secretaries. The AI tool for identifying evaluator resulted in examples of evaluator based on keywords. Both tools were judged to be able to be used to streamline parts of the assessment process.

Expected long term effects

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The project resulted in two AI tools. The tool for distributing applications showed as high or higher reliability for the selection of the evaluation group as the researchers´ own choices. It is too early to say to what extent the tool streamlines the processes. Above all, it can provide help with applications that end up outside or between Formas evaluation groups. A process that today requires considerable time.

Approach and implementation

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The AI tool for identifying the right evaluation team was tested by Formas´ research secretary. It received very positive reviews. In the next step, an internal process for testing, evaluating and developing the tool needs to be established. Detta AI´s tools also provided an opportunity to follow the development of Formas applications over time. We did not have time to test the AI tool to identify the evaluator as a pilot within the framework of the project. This also needs to be compared with commercial tools before being used in sharp mode.
