Purpose and goal
Asset Management built on the concept of Integrated Vehicle Health Management, is necessary for operational excellence in the aviation, at airports and for electrified mobility system. The integration of physical and virtual assets demands innovative approaches for a cyber-physical system asset management regime that is sustainable, resilient, and efficient. This integration also facilitates the development of a Digital Twin. Hence, AIF/A will enable a Digital Twin by development of an AI and digitalization solution for fact-based decision-making in aircraft operation.
Expected effects and result
AIF/A provides the industry participants with competitive advantages in terms of new cross-industry sector knowledge, means and a collaborative platform, to develop new digitalized products and implement services for sustainable and efficient aviation asset utilization. Which in turn contributes to strengthened research and innovation, society´s digital transformation, sustainable development, and the work to achieve the Swedish environmental goals. AIF/A will apply a structured methodology that facilitates the progress of the project´s planned activities.
Planned approach and implementation
AIF/A will be executed in four phases: a) Exploration and identification, mapping, and description of envisioned aviation and autonomous airport enterprise; b) Develop and establish a common distributed cloud/fog/edge-based platform for the development, verification, integration, and demonstration; c) Integrate relevant and identified internal and external types of data sources into the AI-based products and services; d) Develop & implement AI algorithms for data analysis and decision support to asset management and fleet management.
