Purpose and goal
Agtech 2030 aims to become a leading innovation platform in agricultural technology with a focus on sustainability, mobilising regional, national and international expertise. We are actively working on new applications of sensors, robotics, drones, AI, image analysis and visualisation, etc. We are driving the development of new decision support systems, new farming systems and new food processing methods. Agtech 2030 work for cross-border cooperation and builds on the idea of linking the agricultural sector with technology companies and academic research.
Expected effects and result
Agtech 2030 addresses sustainability at all levels and contributes to most of the global sustainability goals. Through technology-based innovation, changes in agriculture are expected to be necessary to 1) secure food supply in the long term and meet new customer needs, 2) reduce negative environmental impacts and contribute positively to the environment, for example through carbon sequestration and increased biodiversity, and 3) increase Sweden´s international competitiveness of agriculture and technology companies.
Planned approach and implementation
The approach is to stimulate new links between farms, machinery manufacturers, technology companies and academic research environments, and to establish collaborations with the wider world. We create meeting places through national and international events. We work with dedicated test and experimental farms and new innovation methods to develop new technologies in close collaboration with farmers. We act as a catalyst for business development, research and external monitoring, leading to new innovative agtech concepts that gain a foothold in markets.
