Purpose and goal

Next-generation aviation, with e.g. drones, electrification and digitalisation, is a global growth industry where Sweden can create sustainable development of the Aerospace-industry in line with the global GSG goals. Aero EDIH develops a new smart industry, increases the use of digital services for SMEs and implements the regional smart specialization strategy. Aero EDIH carries out activities that support digital and green transformation at SMEs, regional airports and the public sector. In this sense, Aero EDIH contributes to increased European competitiveness and strength.

Expected effects and result

The project will result in the establishment of an EDIH specialized in the development of the next-generation sustainable aviation industry primarily for SMEs but also the public sector. The project will provide services to a value of SEK 31 million to accelerate the digitalisation of the target groups for Sweden and Europe with increased competitiveness and resilience as a result. The services in EDHI also aim to increase SMEs´ ability to attract investments. Another effect will be to improve the international connection between the companies and the innovation support system.

Planned approach and implementation

The work is structured in three different work packages, formulated in line with the project´s execution model and the priority areas for EDIH: 1) project management 2) provision of services 3) external issues and resource management. The objectives are achieved by implementing activities that ensure end results, deliverables and impact. The consortium has been created to optimize the project´s innovation management capabilities. Using mutually complementary actors with different perspectives maximizes synergies and thereby strengthens the project´s delivery and results.
