Important results from the project
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The project is about technically verifying the basic prerequisites for the development of a bio-based composite material based on CelluXtreme´s strong and stiff fibers. The composite concept is currently at TRL2 and the aim of the project is a move to TRL3.
Expected long term effects
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The basic prerequisites for the production of structured composite materials with CelluXtremes (cXes) fiber as reinforcement have been verified. The project showed that cXes fiber works well with both a conventional epoxy system and a bio-based one. The production of material samples with PLA as a matrix did not work optimally. Finally, however, samples could be manufactured and tested and also for the PLA case it could be shown that the cXes fibers reinforced the matrix and gave samples with higher modulus and energy absorption capacity.
Approach and implementation
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The project addresses the production of advanced composite materials, i.e. composite materials that exhibit extraordinary properties, often in the form of strength and stiffness combined with light weight. The project has been carried out under the leadership of CelluXtreme and the work has been divided into four activities. The focus of the project has been on the initial technical verification.
