Adaption of FineCell´s technology to a larger scale

Important results from the project

This project aimed att increasing the maturity and reduce the costs of FineCell´s production process. This has been done by investigating alternative methods that are better suited for large scale and to identify a process that takes advantage of the uniquness of FineCell´s technology. With the help of the process developed in this project, it is possible to improve the control and reduce the amount of chemicals required. FineCell has also identified new chemicals that can increase the efficiency of the processes. This reduces the environmental impact and cost of FineCell´s materials.

Expected long term effects

Through the new chemicals and processes, it is possible for FineCell to reduce its production costs and reduce its environmental impact. This makes FineCell´s cellulose based materials economically competitive and increases the possibility of replacing fossil based chemicals and materials.

Approach and implementation

Due to COVID, the project plan has been adapted a lot, e.g. we have reduced the work that has been done with external parties and instead done more internally. Of course, this partly leads to some things taking longer than expected, but it also leads to us gaining better control and insight of the work and the final result.
