Important results from the project
The Project has created a network of around seventy people/organisations from a wide range of sectors and areas that want to develop cultural heritage as a resource for the activation and well-being of older adults. Discussions within the network have mainly focused on meta questions such as how to best develop structures for matching of competences and a more efficient use of resources in order to strengthen the sense of well-being, belonging and quality of life for individuals and groups.
Expected long term effects
The Project has developed an electronic soloution for the exchange of information and experiences as well as a website for communication of the aims and goals of the network. The mixture of competences within the network is unique. Thus there is reason to expect great impact from the group on national as well as on international level. This applies both to the particular focus on older adults and their conditions of life and to the issue of using cultural heritage as a resource to tackle the challenges of today´s society.
Approach and implementation
A mapping of people and organisations was initially made. Early on, close connections were made to the network ´Cultural heritage and older people´s quality of life´ in Kalmar. Two seminars have taken place, one was smaller and one larger. Invitations were sent to approx. one hundered reserachers/organisations from different disciplines. An invitation was spread through social media, mailing lists and elsewhere. Contacts between the Project manager and interested parties were managed primarily via e-mail. 70 people have participated in meetings or signed up to the network.
