Reference number
Coordinator Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan - Institutionen för hållbar utveckling, miljövetenskap och teknik (SEED)
Funding from Vinnova SEK 1 000 000
Project duration November 2024 - December 2025
Status Ongoing

Purpose and goal

This feasibility study focuses on a first step in developing an accelerator to practically facilitate the implementation, scaling and diffusion of green mobility plans to accelerate climate change in cities. The intention is to also develop the accelerator in such a way that in time the form of support can also be applied to other areas. Viable Cities, with KTH as the host organization, is the project coordinator and the work also involves SALAR and Linköping´s municipality as project partners.

Expected effects and result

By systematizing insights and lessons learned from work on implementing Green Mobility Plans in cities at different stages, a knowledge base and guidance are created. Better guidance and support to more cities through an accelerator will contribute to more efficient ways to facilitate the implementation, scaling and dissemination of Green Mobility Plans. An accelerator for Green Mobility Plans helps to practically support the work of accelerating climate transition in cities.

Planned approach and implementation

A number of cities in various stages of implementation of Green Travel Plans are involved in the feasibility study. Experiences and insights from their work are collected, analyzed and compiled. In parallel, work is being done on prototyping an accelerator to design suitable support for the implementation, scaling and dissemination of Green Travel Plans.
