Important results from the project
The scientific aim is to pin down the mechanism of sunlight induced autoimmune skin disease. The role of macrophages and dendritic cells (the most common cell types of the skin) and Colony Stimulating Factor-1 (CSF-1), the principle macrophage growth factor, will be elucidated. The aim is also to establish a collaboration between Harvard Medical School and Göteborg University (GU). The project combines molecular basic science incl. unique mouse models with clinical expertice and the possibility of human studies.
