Important results from the project

The aim of the project was to investigate whether a national AI solution for text in the public sector is possible and has potential. The results show that a national solution can provide great value by relieving the burden on employees. The project has created cooperation between many actors and developed a prototype, Svea, that has been made available to 800 people. The project has provided important insights in many areas and laid the foundation for continuation in stage 2.

Expected long term effects

If a national AI solution for text is eventually developed, it could lead to significant time savings, quality improvements and relief for employees in the public sector for many years to come. The project´s results can also guide many other upcoming projects and initiatives for AI, especially in areas such as technology, law, use cases, education and responsible AI use. The project has also given the participants the knowledge needed for lasting value creation with AI.

Approach and implementation

The project had an innovative and exploratory approach and several important path choices were made during the course of the project. Despite this, the overall planning and schedule could be kept. The project has exceeded expectations and many advances have been made beyond the project goals. Major lessons have also been learned that will inform the future, particularly in data generation and use case design. The legal work has also been more challenging than expected and continues.
