Purpose and goal

The long-term aim is to create a user-friendly program for psychiatric inpatient care in Sweden, This is done in close collaboration with staff and users to support a cultural change towards a more socially inclusive care, where also other stakeholders and volunteers are welcome. The purpose of this application is to develop a prototype-program and create a network for this work through workshops, the Internet and a national conference.

Expected effects and result

Meeting and workshops will be held with user organizations and these will get the opportunity to participate in the program. The knowledge we receive from this project will be used to create a prototype-program and implementation support that can deal with eg: 1) Knowledge transfer; to translate and adapt ideas from Star wards and Safewards to Swedish context and also include interventions that are developed in Sweden, and 2) Experience mediation; create forums for meetings between stakeholders in wards, the Internet, conferences and seminars.

Planned approach and implementation

Meetings with stakeholders. Workshops with staff to give inspiration to work with the ideas in the program. National conference. National conference in autumn 2019 in Gothenburg, which will also be a kick-off for this work in Sweden. Investigation of stakeholders´ views on opportunities and barriers to provide a basis for how we should launch the program in a way that staff and managers perceive it as attractive. Prepare a publication, which should be a good introduction to this program
