Important results from the project
Based on a description of the current institutionally centric IT structure, as well as future challenges and opportunities, the aim of the project has been to paint a vision of an individual-centric digital ecosystem to support the health, care, research and the healthtec industry.
Expected long term effects
The resulting report offers suggestions on what state and county councils can and should do to create an individual-centric ecosystem and describe how this will enable improved health, more effective health care, clinical research, and the development of life sciences, and other healthcare-related industries in Sweden. The report also considers what is likely to happen unless the government takes the lead and acts as a catalyst in this area.
Approach and implementation
The project analysis has been supported by in-depth interviews with key stakeholders within the Swedish eHealth ecosystem, as well as seminars and extensive literature reviews focused on information management and other, previous work in the field.
