Important results from the project

The mobility of young people has decreased since the 1970s, as parents´ offering transport by car has replaced walking and cycling. In this feasibility study, the municipality of Sundsvall, RISE and Sweco have investigated what is required in the form of data access, analysis ability and organizational ability, to develop a planning tool to support municipalities´ work with more sustainable travel options. The results show that a methodology is needed that collects soft data that can be analysed with the traditional data, and include the perspectives of the various stakeholders.

Expected long term effects

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** This study has identified a number of existing data in, for example, the school´s IT system that should be made available for analysis to a greater degree than today. In order to not create local solutions that only work in Sundsvall´s local system solutions, we want to see a development of standardization of data in current areas. Methods for collecting "Experience data" should be developed as part of systematically following up children and young people´s views connected to the urban space, as well as methods for using this information in analysis..

Approach and implementation

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The project partners formed a project group that met (digitally) regularly and together pushed the project forward. Two workshops were conducted for analysis of the current and new situation with the participation of various relevant roles from most municipal areas. General identification of different data sets such as geodata warehouses, school systems, sports databases, movement data (mobile operators) with assessment of use and making available. Theoretical compilation of suitable analysis methods.
