Important results from the project
Within this project a platform for advanced computational methods has been developed and successfully integrated into the setting of the pharmaceutical industry. The main focus has been on electrophysiological measurements that are employed within translational research on drugs for diseases of the central nervous system.
Expected long term effects
The project has achieved an optimization of the translational flow in drug development through providing information that allows researchers to make more confident decisions on the probability of success of a new drug candidate. This has been done through e.g. standardization of meta data handling and computational methods and results. The project has also given opportunity to identify future needs and challenges within the pharmaceutical industry.
Approach and implementation
The project has to 75% been pursued directly at H. Lundbeck A/S headquarter in Copenhagen, Denmark. In order to obtain a broad insight into the workflow and assess the needs for advanced analysis methods in this industry, the applicant has been an active part of several projects and research teams. The applicant has also been given opportunities for personal development, e.g. through attending leadership training courses.
