Important results from the project
The project has been part of Impact innovation (ii). In cooperation with relevant actors a proposal for ii programme has been worked out. The proposal is titled Charge Towards Change (CtC). CtC gathers actors who will contribute to ensuring that every step of the batteries´ value cycle is environmentally, economically, and socially sustainable by 2035. CtC is designed to act as a catalyst for cooperation across different sectors, promote electrification, boost competitiveness and establish Sweden as a global hub for a sustainable energy transformation.
Expected long term effects
The project resulted in an application to form an office within impact innovation. If the application is granted, the work for a sustainable battery value cycle is expected to be accelerated. The program´s mission is transformative and urgent. The ability to store and use electrical energy in both mobile and stationary solutions is key to the success of future fossil free societies. By gathering relevant actors in a joint program, many organisations can work in the same direction, individually and together.
Approach and implementation
The work has been carried out in collaboration, first through workshops held in Skellefteå, Stockholm, Västerås, and Gothenburg, and then in individual meetings. In June, 20 organizations participated in a workshop focused on system innovation. The purpose of these meetings and workshops has been to gather both private and public actors to identify challenges and opportunities, as well as to identify necessary measures for achieving the mission and mobilizing for change. The results of these meetings have served as the basis for the application that has been produced.
