Important results from the project
The objective of the project has been to gather relevant actors in the area of additive manufacturing (AM) and to perform activities to increase the knowledge about needs and possibilities among stakeholders and end-users. The project has managed to take several important steps to gather SP´s and Swerea´s capabilities into a test bed accessible to industry.
Expected long term effects
The project has resulted in increased knowledge and insights about needs and challenges in industry among the project partners, and a raised awareness about AM and SP´s and Swerea´s capabilities among potential users in manufacturing industry. Effects include new collaboration projects, increased knowledge about and use of AM in Swedish industry, which in the longer term will increase its innovation capacity and competitiveness.
Approach and implementation
The project was carried out in work packages, consisting of the following: (i) knowledge transfer and analysis of needs, in the form of workshops and seminars with industry and other stakeholders, (ii) inventory of competences and infrastructure within SP and Swerea, (iii) demonstration activity, and (iv) collection and analysis of results, as a basis for increasing the accessibility of the test bed.
