Important results from the project
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The project aimed to develop low-cost molding tools for manufacturing of profiles made of carbon fiber composite. A pre-fabricated 3D woven dry preform is injected with an epoxy matrix into a closed tool and then cured. Since for short series and for test items, the mold tool is a large expense. The project has demonstrated that manufacturing is possible in a 3D printed tool.
Expected long term effects
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The possibilities with access to a simpler and cheaper tool concept are to speed up product development and to be able to do tests and different variants / geometries more easily. In the long run, this can lead to more optimized and lighter products. The concept is not yet intended for series production / deliveries.
Approach and implementation
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The project has consisted of a small sphere with good cooperation and a great desire to generate results in the form of industrial benefit. The project group has adapted to the course of the project as it was required during the course of the project to achieve good results.
