Important results from the project
The feasibility study of a compact, energy efficient, high-resolution radar sensor for the 122 GHz frequency band has been completed. The radar sensor is intended for areas such as IoT, autonomous systems, vital sign detection, advanced surface analysis, and gesture recognition. A base for a radar platform has been established via the study. Furthermore, the project has been able to combine different skills from different experts to obtain relevant goals and content for a full project. This is valuable for the cooperation between different parts of Swedish trade and industry.
Expected long term effects
The feasibility study has been very successful thanks to the high level of competence and the willingness to do something that is relevant for Sweden. The collaboration has led to an increased understanding of what is technically possible and what constraints exist. Furthermore, the project participants have the desire to reach the limits of the technology. This will lead to increased skills and the opportunity to create brand new services and products that will be required in the future both nationally and internationally.
Approach and implementation
The project work has been allocated in accordance with the partners´ competence and interest. Through regular meetings, several issues and challenges have been identified and solutions provided. The implementation has taken place systematically, where each parner has been assigned a responsibility that was subsequently discussed and analyzed. Through this procedure, the project has ultimately presented a feasibility study for a radar system that is relevant and based on the latest research in the field.
