Methods of innovation

Vinnova is constantly working with different methods for innovation that can facilitate system development. It can be about everything from broad social development where entire systems need to be changed - to smaller policy work where you need to collaborate at the local level. Big or small, it is at system level that we need to enable innovation. Below we share methods that we have used and how we have learned to work with them.

Who uses the methods?

Methods for innovation are used to find solutions in both small, limited contexts and to create change in entire systems – depending entirely on what needs to change.

Innovation methods are used, for example, in large test projects that will demonstrate how an entire system can change. These are extensive system tests that take place in a real environment and are continuously evaluated. For some time, a large national trial with large electric vehicles - REEL - has been underway, which includes everything from charging infrastructure, drivers and haulage companies to suppliers of truck vehicles.
