The National Incubator Program support help startups to success

The National Incubator Program (NIP) is part of Sweden's strategy to promote innovation and business development by giving start-ups the help and support they need to grow and develop. The national incubator program supports just over 30 regional innovation environments across the country.

The incubations in the national incubator program are spread from Skåne to Norrland.

- The incubator program identifies and supports companies that have an innovative idea and a strong drive to succeed. Through the investment, entrepreneurship develops in Sweden - an entrepreneurship that is the economic engine and forms the foundations of the business life of the future. Companies that have participated in an incubator program are often perceived as attractive by investors, because the fundamentals of sustainable growth permeated the company's development, says Carl Naumburg, program manager for the National Incubator Program at Vinnova.

Companies that participated in the incubator program become more attractive to both investors and customers, because they receive support to create a professional and long-term sustainable company in all important dimensions right from the start.

The national incubator program is run together with the industry organization Sweden's incubators and science parks (SISP).

- By investing in co-creation, joint learning and gender equality, the incubator program has developed Sweden's capacity for innovation and renewal. The incubators have a collaborative culture around startup companies, which is one of innovation Sweden's greatest strengths, says Stina Lantz CEO at SISP.
