Vinnova establishes presence in Singapore

Singapore is one of the world's most innovative countries with a strong international presence of multinational companies, startups, research and banks. Vinnova has therefore identified Singapore as an important country for innovation collaborations, where presence can also pave the way for exchange with other countries in the region.

- Singapore is a high-tech country with a high demand for sustainable innovative solutions. It is also a regional center in South and Southeast Asia. By being there, we can create opportunities for collaborations that strengthen Sweden's innovative capacity and competitiveness, says Darja Isaksson, director general of Vinnova.

Vinnova will have a person placed at the Swedish embassy. The assignment consists, among other things, of helping Swedish actors find relevant contacts in Singapore. Vinnova's presence in Singapore will be established at the end of September.

Sweden already has a number of innovation collaborations with Singapore through Vinnova's counterpart Enterprise Singapore. Among them is a collaboration between Sweden and other small, smart countries that will accelerate the development of technologies that help the world reach its climate goals. Vinnova is also investing in new collaborations with Singapore in emerging technology solutions.

Vinnova already has a presence in Brussels, Silicon Valley and Tel Aviv to promote innovation and international collaborations.
