Vinnova at COP27: "To accelerate the transition, innovation is required"

COP27 is the UN's official climate meeting for the year 2022, where the countries of the world gather to negotiate how the global climate work under the Paris Agreement will become a reality. Vinnova will be on site in the Swedish pavilion together with other Swedish authorities, companies, academia and representatives of the government.

Vinnova's director general Darja Isaksson will speak at the opening of the Swedish pavilion, hosted by Business Sweden.

- The research clearly shows that the transition to a sustainable society is urgent and that we need to move forward faster. In order to accelerate the transition, innovation is required, both in terms of technology and working methods. Sweden is far ahead and we have solutions that can make a difference globally. Strong international partnerships are important for success, both in creating common objective and frameworks, and in the solutions we need, she says.

Driving Climate Action Globally, November 7: Representatives of the public and private sectors discuss and share experiences on what is needed to drive and strengthen climate action globally, as well as showcase innovative examples. The themes will be data, transparency and innovation. Participants include Darja Isaksson, Vinnova and representatives of Nasdaq, Doconomy and Einride.

The role of the financial market in the green transition, November 17: Participants include Cecilia Hermansson, chairman of the Climate Policy Council together with representatives of Europeiska Investeringsbanken (EIB), Sustainable Finance Lab, Nasdaq, Viable Cities and Jenny Elfsberg, Vinnova.

ImpactTech for scale and action, November 17: Participants represent Spotify, Doconomy, Heart Aerospace, Minesto, Normative and Regina Summer, Vinnova.
