The future of forests – Become part of the transition journey
A green transition is required to future-proof long-term conditions for our society and industry. In the transition to fossil-free, bio-based raw materials are important. But forest resources are limited and increased competition for bio-raw materials makes the resource shortage clear. To continue to have viable forests and ecosystems, we also need to ensure that forestry and the use of raw materials are carried out in a sustainable manner.
Together we need to answer the following questions:
- How can we collaborate across borders to develop competitive business models where bio-based raw materials are used resource-efficiently and circularly?
- How can policy instruments, certification and labeling create a market for sustainable forest raw materials?
- And how do we work together to ensure increased biodiversity and a balanced climate?
Vinnova now invites you to a transformation journey, for a future-proof sustainable forest and use of forest raw materials. To bring about change, we want to mobilize a broad group of actors and creators from the entire forest value chain. The journey starts by us together visualizing possible future scenarios, which provide a common direction.
We move from dialogue to action, through initiatives focused on business models that bridge gaps in the value chain, where bio-based raw materials are used resource-efficiently and circularly. We investigate how policy instruments, certification and labeling can be used to stimulate the purchase and procurement of sustainable forest raw materials.
The goal is to contribute through innovation to the development of a sustainable society and competitive business within planetary boundaries, with increased biodiversity and a balanced climate.
