That's how the big meeting went at Ocean Data Factory
People interested in data gathered at Chalmers Revere Lab to take part in the latest news from Ocean Data Factory. Among other things, the participants learned more about how data can be used to predict algal blooms.
It is too slow when it comes to the use of data from the sea. Ocean Data Factory will change that. The goal is that the use of data contributes to increasing the pace of innovation within the blue economy.
Part of the work with Ocean Data Factory involves arranging open seminars and conferences - and such a meeting was held at Lindholmen in Gothenburg.
The large meeting was attended by representatives from Oceanlab at OsloMet in Norway, among others. In addition, the project coordinator Torsten Linders and Robin Teigland with colleagues gave an update on the results from the last innovation cycles. In addition to that, several exciting projects project were also presented.
- One of the projects is about how to use algorithms and machine learning to predict algae blooms. Another is about how to make large open databases more accessible to others, and a third about hardware with a focus on what data we want to collect and what user cases there are, says Robin Teigland.
The visitors also had a closer look at the data collection equipment on Chalmers Revere Lab – something that researcher Ola Benderius presents in the film.
