Center of competence

In a competence centre, universities, university colleges, research institutes, companies and public actors conduct world-class research in close collaboration in areas that are important for Sweden's competitiveness. Vinnova has previously granted competence centers in different areas in the same process, but today Vinnova's different areas decide if and when Competence Centers are announced.

This web page has been machine translated. If there are any uncertainties, please refer to the Swedish text.

The competence center creates industry-relevant knowledge and competences

The centre's collaboration between different parties should lead to new excellent knowledge in areas that the universities themselves have chosen to focus on. The knowledge must be able to be used in business or society to provide new products, processes or models. A center must also build networks and competences, so that companies have access to resources that respond to their needs.

Excellent industry-relevant research provides strengthened competitiveness

The long-term aim is to increase investments in research and development. The aim is also to strengthen research in Sweden in order to strengthen the competitiveness of other companies in Sweden.

Our competence centers

Here we list ongoing competence centers that have started in 2017, 2020 (open to all areas) and 2023 (limited to the areas of Sustainable industry and Digital transformation)
