Singapore as a country of innovation in agricultural and food technology
Singapore has more than 30 indoor vertical farms for food production and serves as a research and development hub for four of the world's five largest food and nutrition companies. The country also ranks among the top five locations in the world for companies in flavors, fragrances and ingredients.
In addition, Singapore has many companies that manufacture alternative proteins and is the first in the world to allow the sale of cultured meat. Other Southeast Asian countries are closely following Singapore's solutions to the food security issue to incorporate best practices into their economies.
The delegation trip is aimed at companies that want to
- Explore opportunities for research and development through collaborations with local institutes or private partners in Singapore.
- Engage with key government agencies that share challenges at the domestic level, their objective and visions, and the capabilities required
- Learn from and be inspired by innovators in Singapore's agri-food tech landscape
- Discover the latest products and innovative solutions during the exhibition shaping Southeast Asia's vibrant agri-food hub
- Present and pitch your company to decision makers who can help the company establish itself in Singapore and scale up in Asia
- Using Singapore as a testing ground for Asian taste buds. Although Swedish companies are at the forefront of healthy foods and alternative proteins, it is necessary to adapt the products to Asian tastes in order to enter the Asian or Southeast Asian market.
During the delegation trip, we will take you on a guided tour through Asia's largest Agri-Food Tech Expo, with product displays from over 200 exhibitors from more than 15 countries and over 6,000 physical attendees.
