In order to reach all the way to the climate goal that the transport sector should have reduced its climate impact by 70 percent by 2030, we must invest in initiatives that break habitual behavior at the everyday level. Development of climate-neutral and transport-efficient solutions is necessary. But it also requires extensive changes in behavior for us to succeed in traveling sustainably. Approximately one third of the emission reductions required to achieve the target are estimated to come from changed behaviors. Here, the public sector has a key role to play in making it easier for citizens to choose healthy and sustainable travel options.
At the seminar, behavioral experts Niklas Laninge (PBM) and Maria Stenström (responsible for mobility and behavioral issues at the Agenda 2030 Secretariat) discuss why and how the public sector can work with behavior change. Ramboll presents brand new results from a survey and shares its recommendations aimed at the public sector. In addition, we present two new Vinnova-funded project that aim to change the travel habits of citizens.
Warm welcome!
