Demonstration projects for viable cities

Under this call, demonstration projects for smart and sustainable cities are funded. Projects must be based on a holistic perspective of the city and make use of digitalisation and citizen involvement in order to speed up the transition to a resource efficient and fossil-free society. Within the strategic innovation programme Viable Cities, the Swedish Energy Agency, Vinnova and the Swedish Research Council Formas together are offering approximately SEK 15 million.

What can you apply for?

Demonstration projects for smart and sustainable cities, based on a holistic perspective of the city. Projects must utilise digitalisation and citizen involvement as powerful catalysts for the transition to a resource efficient and fossil-free society.

Who can apply?

At least three independent actors from at least two of the following groups of actors must be represented in the application:

Universities, technical colleges or research institutes
Companies
Public sector
Non-profit organisations and citizens

How much can you apply for?

You can apply for between SEK 2,000,000 and SEK 5,000,000 with a maximum support level for the project as a whole of 25 per cent.

The total budget for the call is SEK 15 million. The project duration is a maximum of 2 years.
