Swelife and Medtech4Health - Collaborative projects for better health autumn 2021

With this call for proposals, Swelife and Medtech4Health want to help Sweden remain a world leader in life science. The goal is to promote renewal and innovation for a more value-creating healthcare and increase growth in the life science sector in Sweden.

What can you apply for?

Innovation project in collaboration with great potential to contribute to improved prevention, diagnosis, monitoring or treatment. There must be a significant need and demand for the solution from the end user.

Who can apply?

Actors from healthcare, companies, academia, research institutes and actors in the idea-driven sector. The project consortium must consist of at least three parties from at least two different categories of actors.

How much can you apply for?

Up to SEK 3 million per project, but a maximum of 50 percent of the project´s budget.

The call is aimed at actors in collaboration in the sectors of healthcare, companies, academia, research institutes and actors in the idea-driven sector.

The projects must lead to products, services, processes or other quality or value-creating solutions such as:

  • is expected to lead to improved prevention, diagnosis, monitoring or treatment of health conditions
  • has a clear commercial focus
  • is innovative or significantly better than what is already on the market
  • enriched by a qualitative collaboration between different sectors
  • are developed together with end users

Relevant market conditions must be validated and clearly described in the project application.

A successful project result will create conditions for sustainable growth in Sweden.

In this call for proposals, Vinnova can finance project from SEK 500,000 up to SEK 3,000,000, however, a maximum of 50 percent of the project's eligible costs. The project period may be a maximum of 2 years. The call has a total budget of SEK 36 million.

This is a joint announcement within the two strategic innovation programs Swelife and Medtech4Health.

  • How to apply

    To apply for funding, you need to log in and complete an application form in our eServices portal. The application form contains questions about your project, the participants taking part in the project and your budget. 

    This happens when the call is closed

    Once your proposal registered, we will email a confirmation to the person in charge of the user account and to the project manager and signatory. This may take a few hours after the call is closed. If you have not received a confirmation within 24 hours after the call has closed, get in touch with us.

    When the call is closed, you can not change or fill in any new information. Then you can only complete your proposal if we ask for it.

    Who can read your proposal?

    Applications submitted to us become public documents. But we do not disclose information about the business, inventions or research results if it can be assumed that someone is suffering financial damage if the information is shown.

    This means that we must release the documents if someone requests them. However, we keep confidential the information that we believe could cause financial damage if it is disclosed.
