Assignment to prepare the implementation of a skills upgrade for the climate transition
The government is assigning the Swedish Agency for innovation system (Vinnova) to develop a basis for implementing a skills upgrade for the climate transition, through training initiatives in areas of expertise that have been identified as strategically important for the climate transition.
The assignment was finalised on November 2, 2022.
Assignment to further develop a model for quality-based distribution of research grants
The Government is assigning the Swedish Agency for innovation system (Vinnova), together with selected authorities, to jointly further develop the model for quality-based resource allocation of universities' and the university colleges' grants for research and education, at the doctoral level, which the authorities reported in June 2021.
The assignment was finalised on June 1, 2022.

The government is assigning the Swedish Agency for innovation system (Vinnova) to map and analyze the need for development efforts for data sharing.
The assignment was carried out by Erik Borälv and the final report was submitted on June 1, 2022.
Mission to establish an advisory body to promote innovation and climate-focused standardization
The Government has commissioned the Swedish Chamber of Commerce to establish an advisory body to promote innovation and climate-focused standardization. The Council will be assisted in this task by, among others, Vinnova, which will also be commissioned by the Government to announce funding in line with the focus of this task and in line with the Council's work and the prioritized areas for standardization linked to the business sector's climate transition.
The assignment was carried out by Ida Langborg and the final report was submitted on May 31, 2022.
Assignment on Nordic study on innovation, development and production of vaccines
The government has commissioned the Swedish Agency for innovation system (Vinnova) to, together with authorities in Norway (Innovation Norway)), Finland (Business Finland)), Denmark (Statens Serum Institut)) and a consultant in Iceland (Landas EHF)), conduct a joint study on the potential for mutual benefit of Nordic cooperation in innovation, development and production of vaccines.
The assignment was carried out by Anna Tegnesjö and Mats Jarekrans and the final report was submitted on May 31, 2022.
Mission to support the Smart City Sweden
demonstration platformVinnova will, within its area of responsibility, assist the Swedish Energy Agency in their government assignment to support the Smart City Sweden demonstration platform. The assignment involves supporting the development of the promotion of solutions for smart and sustainable cities within the framework of the Smart City Sweden demonstration platform. The purpose is to showcase and demonstrate examples of smart and sustainable city solutions in order to increase their dissemination. The assignment will also help to facilitate coordination and exchange of experience within local and regional promotion activities.
The assignment will be reported to the Swedish Energy Agency on March 31, 2022.

Assignment to participate in the implementation of Sweden's recovery plan
Assignment to participate in the implementation of Sweden's recovery plan
The Government instructs the Swedish Agency for innovation system (Vinnova) to take the necessary measures to ensure that the part of Sweden's recovery plan that concerns Research in digitalisation, digital structural transformation in line with the collaborative programme Business's digital structural transformation and data-driven innovation programme in economics and artificial intelligence, can be implemented.
The assignment was carried out by Tommy Schönberg and completed on February 24, 2022.

Vinnova has been assigned to map existing testing and inspection activities for cement and concrete, which are available to Swedish actors, and propose measures that can create the conditions for coordination in the event of a significantly increased demand for the activity.
