Innovative small and medium-sized enterprises is one of VINNOVA's strategic areas. These enterprises are characterised by an ability to accept, apply and develop new knowledge and techniques in new business opportunities. They thus strengthen their competitiveness and growth prospects.
For increased growth and new jobs, these capabilities need to be developed and strengthened so that Sweden gains an innovation-orientated industrial climate with more growth companies.
A major part of VINNOVA’s support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) takes place through the programmes Forska&Väx (Research&Grow) and VINN NU. VINNOVA is investing equally major resources in stimulating small and medium-sized enterprises to actively invest in international development partnerships, through programmes such as Eurostars and Eureka. In addition to these targeted investments, small and medium-sized enterprises are involved in several of VINNOVA’s other efforts.
