EUREKA

Eureka

Cooperation network for market related research

EUREKA is a network for 39 member countries that has been set up to promote collaboration between companies and researchers in Europe regarding market related research and technological development.

EUREKA’s aim is to strengthen the competitiveness of European industry on the global market. The projects entail collaboration between companies, institutes and authorities from at least two member countries. It is the participants themselves that initiate and design their collaboration. Since the network was set up in 1985 more than 4 000 EUREKA projects have been created and approved.

VINNOVA is the Swedish co-ordinator and runs the national EUREKA office. This assignment includes spreading information about EUREKA and helping Swedish players to find suitable partners in other countries. VINNOVA processes the Swedish applications to EUREKA and is involved in the EUREKA decision-making process.

VINNOVA can also help with the design of projects and award travel grants to potential participants for project planning meetings abroad. In addition, VINNOVA can provide co-funding for EUREKA projects.
